New vacancies at the Open University Geography
We are pleased to offer Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding through the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership (OOC DTP). AHRC PhD studentships are available via the Open University across all three AHRC subject classifications: ‘Histories, Cultures and Heritage’, ‘Creative and Performing Arts’, and ‘Languages and Literature’.

For Doctoral Training Partnership studentships in Geography click on a link to Social Science and then scroll down to Pathway 3. Geography.
The funding available will vary depending upon what topics you plan to research for your PhD. The OU currently has funding available for studentships in Arts, Design, Nuclear Energy, Science and Social Science. From time to time there are topic-specific PhD studentships advertised on the OU’s Employment Vacancies page, under Studentships.
The Geography and the Development Policy and Practice pathways of the Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership offer funding to study a Masters at the University of Oxford, before returning to the OU for full time or part time study for a Doctorate. Depending on the candidate’s interests, these pathways could be suitable for graduates from any of the OU’s Undergraduate Environment Qualifications.
